DITHERING ALGORITHM
Regular, repeating, unmistakably retro.

Ordered dithering does not diffuse error at all. Instead it compares every pixel against a fixed 8x8 threshold matrix, tiled across the image. Whether a pixel rounds up or down depends purely on its position in that grid.
Because the pattern is fixed rather than data dependent, the output has a visible, regular crosshatch texture. This is the look of old newsprint, of CGA-era PC graphics, and of anything that needs to feel deliberately mechanical.
It is also the only algorithm here whose texture is completely stable between frames, which is why ordered dithering is what you want if the result will ever be animated.
Newsprint and halftone effects, CGA looks, and any result that needs a repeating pattern.
